Here are the songs I’m thinking of teaching @ HBC…in no particular order…

  • Cannons – Phil Wickham (this guy is blowing up my worship world right now…)
  • Blessing & Honour – Aaron Keyes (song that uses hebrew names for God!)
  • You Are God – Charlie Hall
  • God of Justice – Tim Hughes (this is a going out song, a song that calls us to respond)
  • Remedy – David Crowder (we taught this @ HBC in Feb 2008)
  • God of This City – Passion/Chris Tomlin
  • Hosanna – Christy Nockels/Passion version
  • Shine – Matt Redman
  • Beautiful Jesus – Kristian Stanfill
  • Walk The World – Charlie Hall (this song has a great funky beat and great syncopation – i love the missional lyrics)
  • Our God Saves – Paul Baloche, Brenton Brown (introduced to HBC in Jan 2008)
  • You Are So Good to Me – Waterdeep (introduced to HBC Dec 2007)
  • When I Think About The Lord – Shane and Shane style (introduced to HBC Jan 2008)
  • Salvation Is Here – Hillsong United (The energy in this song is similar to Mighty To Save)
  • Happy Day – Tim Hughes (this will be a huge church hit, but not sure if it’s just right for us. but I love the energy in this song)
  • Everything – Tim Hughes (love the percussive piano at the beginning and how the songs build to “Christ, be my everything”)
  • The Highest and The Greatest – (This song is very singer friendly and I love the reference to the nations. The tempo is upbeat but not fast. This will also be a big church hit nationally.)
  • Yes & Amen – Matt Redman (probably too slow – but the lyrics are really unique)
  • Glorious One – Steve Fee (this is going to be a big hit)
  • Marvelous Light – Charlie Hall (good version at last April date of 7[]22)
  • A Greater Song – Matt Redman/Paul Baloche
  • Spring of Life – Kristian Stanfill (awesome communion song) – I Can’t find this recorded anywhere – but I LOVE this song. (update – now you can get this from i-tunes off Kristian’s new EP)
  • Lead Me to the Cross (Hill Song United) – May 1st @ 7[]22
  • You Never Let Go – Matt Redman
  • Jesus Reigns – Todd Fields
  • Open Skies – David Crowder (good opening worship song, but the melody is not that catchy)
  • Beautiful Scandalous Night (originally performed and written by the Choir, recently performed by Robbie Seay Band)
  • Priceless Treasure – Charlie Hall (a slower reflective song that would work great around communion)

Other ideas/tags:

  • Lead from Breathe straight into Mighty to Save (did this on 10-14-2007)
  • Add tag to Kindness – “Better than all the riches of the world”
  • Add tag to The Heart of Worship (already did this awhile back) – “You will not share your glory with another”
  • Add bridge to Resonate, and do song more reflective/slower than we usually do.
  • Forever – end with just voices on bridge
  • Add tag to O For A Thousand Songs, from David Crowder
  • Add tag to All Hail the Power of Jesus Name – “Raise Up The Crown, Rise on the Praises” – did this awhile back

Hey I was searching for some song lyrics and I randomly came across your blog. I’m a worship leader and I’m always on the lookout for new songs. Where do you find the guitar chords for these songs? I can usually find lyrics and chords fairly easily, but some of the ones that aren’t as well-known have been really hard for me to find, like Kristian Stanfill’s “Spring of Life”. Is there a particular site you go to or do you just listen to them and write out the chords yourself? Any info you can provide would be helpful. Thanks a lot and God bless!
